From lounge wear to formal wear, styles of all types adorned the runway Tuesday in the Junior Fair Activities Building at the Junior and Senior Fashion Revue.
Strutting away with a rosette in the Sew for Your Career category was Maggie Henry, a junior at Indian Lake High School. Maggie walked down the runway with a bright blue dress accompanied by a matching blue blazer.
“My grandma was the one who got me into sewing,” said Maggie. “I’ve been sewing for seven years.”

Maggie sewed the outfit herself, with her grandmother, Peggy Haas of Urbana, checking in regularly to see if she needed help.
Maggie was also selected to participate on the State Fair Fashion Board to assist with judging the Fashion Revue at the Ohio State Fair, which is a three-day event.
“She absolutely rocks whatever look she’s going for,” said OSU Extension Educator Annie Mead. “Maggie’s the only one that sews everything herself. It’s been fun to watch her grow.”
Taking away two bright green rosettes was Riverside student Samuel Knight. Samuel lit up the runway in the Clothes for Middle School category with a bright red T-shirt that had “Pirates” embroidered on the shirt. Samuel won over the judges in the Fun with Clothes category with a blue button-down shirt accompanied by a light gray vest.
“I really wanted to go with something that could be worn in the fall and the winter,” said Samuel after he won the Fun with Clothes category. He says the most challenging thing about sewing the ensemble was the lining on the button-down shirt and hand sewing the vest.
Bellefontaine Senior Carrie Robb also earned two rosettes for her sewing in the Formal wear category and Creative Costumes category. Her costume was modeled after Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and was completed with the sparkling red heels. Carrie also made a ruby red prom dress complete with embellishments on the bodice.
Bringing home a rosette in the Active Sportswear was seventh-grade Riverside student, Malana Jenkins. Hailey Carey also took home a rosette in the Loungewear category.
Taking home rosettes in the Junior Fashion Revue were Hannah Marlow, 11, Accessories for Teens; Rachel Knight, 11, Sundress and Rompers; Stephanie Altstaetter, 11, Tops for Tweens; and Kaitlyn Adams, 9, Sew Fun.
