Sarah Mae Miller, 81, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday, Nov.19, 2020, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine following complications from a stroke.
Sarah was born on July 3, 1939, on the family farm west of Bloom Center to the late Herman E. and Ruth McCoy Smith. Sarah was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Franklin (Pat) Smith, Nevin Smith, John Smith and Joe (Naomi) Smith.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Robert K. Miller, whom she fondly called “Bobby”. Bob and Sarah met on a blind date arranged by Sandy Duff and recently celebrated 48 years of marriage on Oct. 7. Known as Sarah Mae and Aunt Mae to family and friends, she is also survived by her brother Bob (Ann) Smith, Barbara (Gary) Kinninger, sisters-in-law, Peggy Smith and Carol Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sarah was a 1957 graduate of Lewistown High School and graduated from Columbus School of Business. She was well known throughout Logan County, especially 4H families, having worked at OSU Extension office in Bellefontaine for 40 years. Sarah enjoyed needlework, crafting, baking, and making projects for family. We all loved her angel food cake, cookies, and candy. Sarah had many good friends including “Alfred Dunner” and she loved the OSU Buckeyes. She will always be loved and never forgotten.
Sarah’s family would like to thank the staff of Logan Acres, especially those working in Willow Hall for the wonderful care she received the past year. They were like family and loved her when we could not be there with her due to Covid-19. A special thank you to all her friends who visited Sarah at Logan Acres.
Due to the current pandemic, a celebration of Sarah’s life will take place in 2021.
Arrangements are in the care of Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Condolences may be expressed at shoffstallfuneralhome.com.
