Safety Pup offers greetings and high fives Friday to participants of the annual Safety Town event hosted by the Russells Point Police Department. The program is designed to teach grade-school aged children the importance of pedestrian safety, traffic signals and signs, fire safety, getting in cars with strangers, and the hazards of drugs. Participants are also taught gun safety, boating, park safety, and dog bite prevention. Ohio Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Officers taught proper fishing techniques.
