Rushsylvania village leaders voiced their objections to a plan by Ohio Gov. John Kasich they believe will cause a substantial loss of revenue to the village.
Council passed a resolution during its Monday evening meeting opposing the governor’s proposal for centralized collection of net profit tax returns related to the municipal income tax, Clerk Diane Rader reports.
In other action, an ordinance was passed granting an easement on an alley encroachment at 140 S. Miami St.
Council also discussed measures to curb the operation of four wheelers on village streets and ways to address junk vehicles.
The village will have clean up days for residents Monday through Wednesday, May 15 to 17. A Dumpster will be placed at the village park, but no tires, batteries, flammable liquids, mattresses, construction debris, appliances, household garbage, air conditioners or yard waste will be accepted.
The next council meeting is 7 p.m. Monday, June 5, with the Board of Public Affairs meeting at 6:30.
