No longer must Logan County Fair royalty reside in Logan County to qualify for king and queen.
In a regular meeting Wednesday, fair board members voted to do away with junior fair rules that had required fair king and queen applicants to reside within the county.
Now, any child that is eligible to participate in other junior fair programs may also apply for the king and queen contest.
The change was prompted by the fact that out-of-county 4-H participants were eligible for other junior fair programs, but not for the royalty contest, according to discussion Wednesday.
