Rosa Lee Hamm, 92, of West Liberty, formerly of Dayton and St. Paris, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018.
Born on Dec. 14, 1925, in Dryden, Va. Rosa was a daughter of the late George F. and Grace Daugherty McElroy.
She married William G. Hamm on June 27, 1949, and he preceded her in death Jan 9, 2007.
Rosa’s family was most important to her and she enjoyed spending time with her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Stephen Graves of St. Paris. She was a loving grandmother to three grandchildren, Becky (Buck) Purtee of DeGraff, Stephen (Lindsay) Graves of Lebanon and Megan Graves of St. Paris, and four great-grandchildren, Landon and Chloe Purtee, Henry Graves and Ryleigh Gannon. Also surviving are nephews Pat Elliott of Gate City, Va., and Sonny Johnston of Tennessee; and a niece, Rita Freese of Naples, Fla.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Johnston and Reba Elliott; and two brothers, Burl and G.F. McElroy.
Rosa enjoyed gardening, flowers and a great game of Skip Bo.
Her family would like to thank Green Hills Inn nursing staff for their wonderful care and Universal Hospice for the comfort they provided.
Calling is at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, prior to a noon service in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris.

Burial follows in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 8200 W. National Road, New Carlisle.
