Robert W. Hatfield, 89, of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
He was born March 7, 1926, in Sidney, to the late Earl R. and Ruth A. Williams Hatfield.
He married the former Bertha Stengel on Dec. 10, 1971, and she preceded him in death, along with a sister, Betty Jean (James) Winkler; brother, Richard Eugene Hatfield; son, David Alan Hatfield; and stepson, Brent Allen Stengel.
Survivors include daughters, Shelley (Roy) Moore of Bellefontaine, Marla Presser and Lucinda (John) Kalivoda, both of Sidney, and Debora (Eddie) Knox of Anna; stepdaughters, Vickie Lump of South Carolina and Sandy Hoover of Sidney; stepson, Jimmy Stengel Jr. of Sidney; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Robert was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Sidney. He retired from Copeland Corporation after 26 years of faithful service.
He enjoyed drinking coffee at McDonald’s in Sidney and Bellefontaine. He also enjoyed traveling around the country with his wife, Bert, and going to grandchildren’s school events. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and NASCAR fan.
Visitation is two hours prior to a funeral at noon Monday, Jan. 25, at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, with Pastor Allen Leach and Dan Gutman officiating. Burial follows at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland of Bellefontaine.
