Robert Thomas Williams Jr., 83, of Bellefontaine, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born in Columbus on Dec. 24, 1934, the son of the late Robert T. and Alfreda L. Parsons Williams.
On Feb. 19, 1958, he married the former Nancy L. Borror and she preceded him in death Aug. 2, 2012. He is also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Terri Lynn Williams in 2016.
He is survived by three sons, Robert T. (Melinda) Williams III of Bellefontaine, Steven E. (Iya) Williams of Huntsville and Michael A. (Suzanne) Williams of Powell; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Charles (Linda) Williams of Marblehead.
Robert served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a Columbus City police officer for 27-1/2 years. After retirement, he enjoyed playing golf and traveling with his wife and family, especially to Hawaii where he visited numerous times.
Pastor Bryan Meadows officiates a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine. Burial is in Sunset Cemetery near Galloway.
