Robert Lee “Bob” Strawn, 64 of Russells Point, and formerly of Newark, passed late, Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family, after a hard-fought battle with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
Born February 18, 1958 in Newark, Ohio the son of the late Everett & Mable (Puffenberger) Strawn. He and his siblings were raised in the Lutheran Church. Bob attended and later graduated from Newark High School in 1976. After graduation Bob worked as a Junior EMT, until he had to draw blood on someone.
Bob then went on to become a truck driver; he continued that career for almost 40 years before retiring just 2 short years ago. After retirement, he assisted his wife Harriet and Premier Management Group as a maintenance man.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Ruth Hall; brothers-in-law Danny Hall, Chuck Larson, Vaughn Larson, and Roger Thompson.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 17 years, Harriet (Hall); daughters Candace and Melissa Strawn, Heather (Britan Lawrence) Dauber; son Dustin (Jessica Stuart) Dauber; grandchildren Izaak Oliver, Jaylen Starks, Tristen Lehner, Ashten Starks, Kanden Starks, Pyper Loggins, Lenoxx Lawrence, Ronin Loggins, Keagen Dauber, Tahlia Watson, Luna Denen, Lilly Lawrence, and Kenlie Perez; brothers Fred (Gayle), Tom (Theresa) and Richard (Alice) Strawn; sisters Liz Thompson, Rose (Jim) Gordon; brothers-in law Dave (Angie) Hall; sisters-in-law- Barb (Ron Cummins) King, Lana (John) Ferguson, and Tina (Steve) Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bob was an ornery and sometimes stubborn individual, he loved telling jokes and being around his grandkids. He enjoyed going to car shows, and collecting matchbox, and diecast cars. He enjoyed going to flea markets, boating, and completing puzzles. He was an Ohio State Buckeyes Fan, along with the Cincinnati Bengals. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and bowling. Bob’s family and those close to him will remember him as the amazing, down to Earth, hero that he was.
Friends may join the family from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 16, at the Ingram Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple Street, Marysville, Ohio 43040, where services celebrating Bob’s life will take place at 4 p.m. The family encourages everyone to wear Ohio State Buckeyes or Cincinnati Bengals attire for both the visitation and service
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed towards the funeral home to assist the family with arrangements.
