Robert Bret Stahler, 63, born September 19,1958, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
Bret was a 1977 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. He received his Associates Degree in Wildlife Management from Hocking Tech. Later in life, he went back to school and received his Bachelors in Logistics Management from Ohio Christian Academy minoring in Theology.
Bret used his love of nature becoming a Natural Resource Officer at Multiple State Parks in Ohio. He also served as a deputy sheriff in Logan County, before settling at Honda of America Manufacturing in 1986.
Bret was a fourth generation Mason, second generation Shriner and Clown. Through the years, Bret won many awards in clowning the most prestigious being Clown Extraordinaire in 2007. Bret served the Shrine in several capacities, he was elected President of the Great Lakes Shrine Clown Unit Association in 2003. He has served as the Education Director for the International Shrine Clown Unit association, Past President and Director Emeritus of the Antioch Funsters. He also was the past President of the Logan County Shrine Club. In 2018, Bret was Elected Potentate of Antioch Shrine.
Bret’s passion was entertaining children and adults alike. Making people laugh and smile was his greatest gift, and he shared that with all of us.
When Bret wasn’t clowning or entertaining he could be found hunting, fishing, birdwatching, spending time with his dogs or watching a John Wayne movie.
Bret is preceded in death by his parents Paul “Bud” Stahler; mother Betty Flora Stahler; sister Jeraldine Wagner.
He is survived by wife Susan Post Stahler, whom he married in a surprise ceremony December 19, 2003. His son Kevin Stahler; four beautiful grandchildren whom he adored Mitchell, Landen, Klara, and Jax; Sister Judy (Kyle) Buck; nephew Greg Wagner; great niece Sevianna and children Bella and Gregory.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday February 5, at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory, 5591 U.S. Route 68 South, West Liberty, Ohio 43357. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.
