Riverside senior softball player Amerra Huston has made her college plans.
Huston recently announced her decision to further her softball career at Thiel College, an NCAA Division III program located in Greenville, Pa.
“I chose Thiel because of the small campus and class sizes,” said Huston of her decision. “I can double major in education and special education while continuing to play softball.”
Huston enters her final season at Riverside with high expectations after a very strong junior campaign.
Last spring, she finished third on the team in batting with an average of .390. She collected nine doubles, one triple and 13 RBI.
Huston said her strength is in her leadership and team approach.
“I am a team player on and off the field and I am willing to do whatever is best for the team,” she said.
Her goal to play college softball began when she joined her first travel team in the 10-and-under age division.
Now, she looks forward to being able to reap the benefits of her journey to becoming a college player.
“I am excited to join another softball family and work together to get a lot of wins in 2023,” she said.
