Riverside’s softball team picked up some extra momentum as it went 2-0 at the Houston Showcase Saturday to wrap up the regular season.
The Pirates rallied to beat Houston 7-3 and topped Parkway 10-2.
The pair of wins gives the Pirates a 17-2 record.
“We had a good game against Houston,” said Riverside head coach Andy Phelps.
“Shelby pitched a good game for us. We also did a nice job in our second game. Parkway is one of the better teams in the state and we came out and hit the ball really well against them. We played good defense behind Jalynn on the mound.”
