Reverend Henry “Hank” H. Harmon, 96, of Lakeview, formerly of Napoleon, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Heartland of Indian Lake in Lakeview.
He was born July 3, 1920, in East Moline, Ill., to the late Guy and Mamie E. Munsor Harmon.
Henry was a pastor serving the Lord and the Christian Union Church for more than 37 years at Garden City Christian Union Church, Lima, from 1957 to 1961; Damascus Bethany Christian Union Church in McClure from 1961 to 1966; New Hope Christian Union Church in Winterset, Iowa, from 1966 to 1970; Union Chapel Christian Union Church in Hedrick, Iowa, from 1970 to 1973; Grace Chapel Christian Union Church in Santa Fe form 1973 to 1983; and Olive Branch Christian Union Church in Fayette from 1982 to 1994.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and is survived by his children, the Rev. H. Leslie (Marilyn) Harmon of Akron and Christine (Jim) Oakley of Lakeview; grandchildren, Lori White, Angela (Patrick) Roether, Eric (Stephanie) Harmon, Brad (Dixie) Harmon, Shawna (David) Clark and Jason (Cindy) Oakley; great-grandchildren, Kyle Fintel, McKensie White, Jay Clark, Nathan Clark, Kayla Oakley, Olivia Harmon, Mitchel Harmon, Keyden Inman and Kayla Oakley.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary W. Harmon; great-grandson, Jacob Oakley; and siblings, Ralph Harmon, Roy Harmon, Ross Harmon, Bessie Logue, Loucille Chadwick, Sylvia Day and Lindy Nelson.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at Grace Chapel Christian Union Church, 9491 Santa Fe Line Road, Wapakoneta, where visitation begins two hours prior to the service. Interment is at 3:30 p.m. in Richfield Township Cemetery in Deshler.
