The excitement around Red Ribbon Week was contagious Wednesday as students at Benjamin Logan Elementary met Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy Cole Piatt, K9 Thor and Officer Garrett Pitz. Pictured is second-grader Cannon Wood petting Thor. Logan County Sheriff Randy Dodds along with Benjamin Logan School Resource Officers Rick Herring and Neill Rhodes were also on site with the students while Thor was in the building. “Highlighting Red Ribbon Week gives us a chance to talk about making good choices as students continue to see law enforcement officers as helpers in the community and the kids love the dog,” shared Principal Colleen Bodin. Red Ribbon Week was organized by elementary school counselor Susan Ridge. Each day, the students and staff dressed by theme to support the 2022 Red Ribbon Week, “Celebrate Life. Live Drug Free.” (Benjamin Logan Photo)
