Ten-year-old Autumn Shuey of North Lewisburg goes for a spin on her new therapeutic tricycle, with some assistance from Mary Rutan physical therapist Shelly Miller, as Mason Ed Green, left, and parents Shelby and Dwayne Shuey look on. The family accepted the tricycle Saturday during a presentation by the Mary Rutan and Indian Lake Masonic Lodge 722 representatives at the lodge in Lakeview. Autumn was born with spina bifida which has impaired her mobility. The use of an “AmTryke” therapeutic tricycle will improve her muscle strength, coordination and mobility. It is designed to grow with her into adulthood. (EXAMINER PHOTO | RICK PITTS) |
