Benjamin Logan’s volleyball team locked up the outright Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division championship Thursday with a three-set win over visiting Indian Lake 25-15, 25-8, 25-14.

The Raiders finish the regular season with a 16-6 overall mark and a 9-1 league record, while the Lakers finish 5-17, 2-9.
Ben Logan has now won five straight Mad River division titles.
Kylie Frazier fueled the Raiders with 17 points serving, 11 kills and 16 assists, Bailey Shope had nine points, 11 digs and three blocks, Molly Vance posted five aces, four kills, five digs and was 13-13 serving, Corinne Herring led the defense with 12 digs, Lynzee Cronkleton had six kills and 15 assists and Makenna LeVan chipped in with four kills.

For the Lakers, Bethany Golliday had eight kills and 10 digs, Kendall Cotterman had five assists and 11 digs, Callie Notestine had eight assists and seven digs and Allix Cotterman added 21 digs and was 24-26 serve receive.
In junior varsity action, Ben Logan defeated Indian Lake in three sets 25-7, 16-25, 25-15. The Raiders end their season with a 16-6 record.
Jordan Sexstone had a big game for the Raiders with 17 points, two aces and 17 digs, Lauren Dixon tallied eight points, five kills, two aces and 10 assists, Elliott Bailey had 10 points with five kills, Brielle Moorhouse recorded seven points, three aces, 11 assists and seven digs with Haleigh Brentlinger and Macy Matthews both posting five kills.
The Lakers were led by Ally Kinney with eight kills, Stephanie Alstaetter had six kills, two aces and was 14-14 serving and Lexi Lones was 12-12 serving.
Ben Logan begins tournament play Tuesday against Kenton Ridge at Tecumseh High School. Indian Lake starts tournament action Wednesday against West Liberty-Salem at Brookville High School.
Pirates sweep Polar Bears
Riverside’s volleyball team got after host Hardin Northern early Thursday and didn’t let up en route to a 25-21, 25-10, 25-21 victory in Northwest Central Conference play.
The Pirates finish the regular season with a 14-7 record.
Jenna Woods tallied 12 kills to spark the Pirates, Lauryn Sanford had 16 assists and Allison Knight added 10 digs on defense.
Riverside beat Hardin Northern in the junior varsity match 25-18, 25-14 and finish the season 18-2. Jade Copas led the Pirates with eight kills, Rachel Knight had two aces and Olivia Perk had 15 assists.
Riverside takes a short break before starting tournament play on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Covington High School against the winner of the match between Franklin-Monroe and Mechanicsburg.
Tigers ground Cardinals
West Liberty-Salem’s volleyball team handled visiting Triad for a three-set victory on Thursday 25-15, 25-21, 25-10 in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Tigers wrap up the regular season 17-5 overall and finish runner-up in the OHC North division at 13-3. The Cardinals complete the regular season at 1-14, 1-13.
Alex Burton powered WL-Salem with 22 kills, eight digs and was 6-8 serving, Michele Smith had 10 kills, one ace, 20 digs and was 10-11 serving with an ace, Selena Weaver had eight kills, two digs and three blocks, Gabby Williams dished out 38 assists, 14 digs, one block and was 19-19 serving, Ally Gaver had 14 digs and was 9-9 serving and Jaelen Meeker had 10 digs and was 13-14 serving with one ace.
Kelsey Coe led the Cardinals with 12 points, two kills and two aces, Jordyn Unger had eight points, three aces and four assists, Holly Alvoid had seven points, two kills, three assists and four digs, Emma Dorn had five points, two kills, four digs and two blocks, Kendell Hughes had five points, two kills, five digs and three blocks and Bailey Perry added five points and six digs.
In junior varsity action, WL-Salem dropped Triad 25-9, 25-7. Naomi McGill led the Tigers with four kills, two aces, seven assists and two digs, Rylie Schultz had four aces and two kills, Emily Bolton had three aces, three assists and one dig, Braxton Givens had four kills and two digs, Chiara Podda had four kills, three aces and seven digs and Madeline Hutton added four kills, two aces and two digs.
WL-Salem’s freshman team defeated Calvary Christian 25-3, 25-12. Makenna Smith led the Tigers with 12 aces, two kills, two digs and was 24-24 serving, Lexy Lee had 10 kills, Aubrey Laing had four kills and Payton Euckurd had two aces, 12 assists and three digs.
Triad faces Ft. Loramie on Tuesday in tournament action at Troy High School. WL-Salem faces Indian Lake on Wednesday in tournament action at Brookville High School.
