Q V Reese, 79, of Jackson Center, passed away peacefully, Monday afternoon, July 2, 2018, at Ohio Living Dorothy Love Nursing Home.
He was born in Hylton, Ky., on Oct. 8, 1938, to the late Allison Potter and Vesta Baker Reese. He also was preceded in death by a sister and brotherin- law, Virginia and Walker Stidham.
Q V married the former Vivian Leigh Butler on May 28, 1960, in Kentucky and she survives in Jackson Center. He is also survived by a daughter, Donita (Ruben) Reese-Aceves; a son, Quentin (Lisa) Reese; grandchildren, Delorean, Haley (Bob Wogaman) Parker, Madison (Dan Aikin) Cassy, Avalon, Chloe, Taylor and Rylie; a great-grandson, Elliott; and a loyal dog, Buddy.
Q V graduated from Pikeville University, and then taught K-8 at Lookout, Ky. He moved to Ohio and completed his master’s at The Ohio State University and truly enjoyed teaching science at Fairlawn High School for 33 years.
After retiring, he and Vivian enjoyed traveling and participating in numerous Masonic activities. Q V was a member of the DeGraff Blue Lodge, Bellefontaine Chapter and Council, Bellefontaine Commandery, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Shriners, Scottish Rite, AMD, Ohio Priory, KYCH, and Blackstone York Rite College. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike St., Jackson Center, where a Masonic service begins at 7 p.m. A graveside service takes place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, in Pearl Cemetery, Swanders.
