The Pirates are now 14-1 on the season as the Cardinals slip to 7-4.
“New Bremen is a very good team,” said Riverside head coach Andy Phelps. “Their pitcher is the best we have faced all year. They kept us off-balance through three innings, but then our bats came alive in the fourth and fifth innings.”
New Bremen scored one run in the first inning off an error to take an early lead.
Riverside answered in the fourth inning when Marissa Davis hit a two-run home run to give her team a 2-1 advantage.
The Pirates added on to their lead in the fifth inning. Aubrie Stillings had an RBI single to put her squad up 3-1. She then scored on a throwing error by New Bremen to make it a 4-1 score.
