Tim “Tiki” Reynolds of Homestead, Fla., came to the Logan County Fairgrounds for the Joshua Keith Memorial tractor pull a few weeks ago, and he left as a vendor.
Owner-operator of the Pig In or Pig Out trailer parked this week at the Logan County Fair near the north end of the grandstand, Reynolds was in the Indian Lake area to spend some time before a Fourth of July gig in New Philadelphia. He set up shop for the tractor pull, and then made arrangements to work the fair, which he said would “fill the gap” until next week’s stop in Sidney’s downtown.
It’s his first fair, he said Sunday afternoon while relaxing under the canopy of his travel trailer/kitchen. The amicable Floridian travels about 40 weeks of the year to various music events and barbecue festivals on a loop that takes him from his Florida home to Wisconsin and back again. He has been on the barbecue circuit since 2005 at various events, including some Food Network appearances, thus the “as seen on TV” banner on his trailer.

Also prominently displayed on the trailer is the head of a wild boar he killed on a hunting trip in Florida.
“He tried to kill me; that’s why he’s hanging on the wall,” he joked. He can laugh about it now, but at the time it was no laughing matter. He approached the boar thinking it was dead after shooting it, but the boar let it be known he was not dead nor very happy about the predicament, and bit into his right wrist, opening up an artery. Reynolds’ hunting buddy was unable to shoot the boar because it had lunged onto Reynolds, who had fallen into water. Reynolds managed to use his .357 pistol that was in his pocket and take it down for good.
