Philip D. Davis, 73, of Huntsville, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, July 5, 2020, at the Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Department, Bellefontaine.
Philip was born on May 22, 1947 in Bellefontaine, a son of the late John F. and Mercedes R. Stratton Davis. He was also preceded in death by a son, Franklin D. Davis.
Philip married Marty Julien on Dec. 4, 1983, at Lewistown United Methodist, and she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Vincent R. Williams of Gomer, and Terry J. (Melinda) Grubbs of Belle Center, five grandchildren, Mollie Grubbs, Logan Grubbs, Kassandra Williams, Bri Frazier and Kylie Frazier, a sister, Aliese McCollum of Lake Worth, Texas, and a niece, Christian Norton.
Philip attended Indian Lake High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam. He was a welder and retired from Rockwell Meritor in Kenton, after 30 years. Philip enjoyed hunting, riding his motorcycle, working on vehicles, drag racing, and watching NASCAR and boxing.
Reverend Bryan Meadows will begin funeral services at 4 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview, with visitation from noon to 4 p.m. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family asks that you be symptom free and to please wear a mask if attending in accordance with state guidelines.
Memorial contributions may be given in his name to the American Heart Association.
