Kelsey A. Roberts, 18, of 408 Walker St., was charged Thursday with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.
Around 12:30 a.m., officers of Bellefontaine Police Department were on patrol in the area of Florence Avenue and Euclid Street after receiving complaints of suspicious people in the area.
Roberts was spotted dressed in black and walking on Florence. An officer stopped her and noted an odor of marijuana.
When asked, Roberts handed over a marijuana cigarette. A glass container with methamphetamine was found in her purse and she produced a bag of marijuana from under shirt.
She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Boy lodged for violent behavior
A 12-year-old Bellefontaine boy was charged Wednesday with delinquency counts of domestic violence, safecracking and disrupting public services.
Officers were called to a Lawrence Street residence around 4:15 p.m. and met with the boy’s mother. She reported the boy attacked her and ran off.
She explained he became enraged when she informed him his cell phone privileges were suspended for his continued misbehavior at school that day and in the home.
He then allegedly grabbed a large knife and used it to open a locked box containing the phone. He also allegedly threatened to slash his mother’s throat and tried to damage a house phone.
The mother told officers he also shoved her, slapped her and forced her to the floor.
The boy was located at 1000 Garfield Ave., Lot 92, and taken into custody. He was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
Officers report the mother used a cellular phone’s camera to record the events.
