Paul Douglas Taylor Sr., 76, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
He was born Nov. 29, 1939, in Urbana, to the late Charles Washington and Marjorie Elizabeth Ladd Taylor. He also was preceded in death by a sister Brenda.
Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years, Valorie Jean Taylor; sons, Jesse D. Williams of Everett, Wash., Dallas D. Williams, Paul D. (Teresa) Taylor Jr. and Aaron S. Taylor I, all of Bellefontaine, and Anthony E. Taylor of Long Beach, Calif.; daughter, Beverly L. Dixon and Helena A. (Jim) Berton, both of Bellefontaine, Danielle M. (Fernando) Smith of Piqua, Vera J. Taylor of Long Beach, Calif., and Paula J. (Michael) Causey of Cincinnati; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas D. (Pat) Taylor and Charles W. (Kathy) Taylor; sisters, Charlotte J. (Richard) Deslandes, Freda G. Smith, Deborah K. (Anthony) Johnson and Barbara L. (Marcellus Jr.) Allen; aunts, Mozelle Couts of Urbana and Janice Gray of Springfield; and many loving friends, nieces and nephews.
Paul worked at Ritter Bros., Logan Packing Meat, Logan County Janitorial and was a railroad conductor. He was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, where he served as an Elder for many years. He loved Jehovah with all his heart and he shared that love with his wife. Together, he was her Evergreen and she was his Everything.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1801 Wright St., Bellefontaine, where Marcellus Allen Jr. gives the Memorial Talk at 2 p.m.
