Patricia A. “Puddy” Thompson, 73, of Belle Center, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Green Hills Care Center.
She was born in Urbana on Sept. 14, 1943, to the late Leslie Raymond and Thelma Johnson McKee. On Aug. 11, 1962, she married Carl E. Thompson Sr. and he preceded her in death Feb. 11, 2010. Patricia was also preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Orahood; siblings, Shirley Brugh and Earl McKee; brother-in-law, Bill Bailey; nephews, Billy Bailey and Douglas “Duke” Bailey; and niece, Brittney Brugh-Williams.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Philip) Weeks of DeGraff and Carla (John) Orahood of Woodstock; son, Carl (Dianna) Thompson Jr. of Decatur, Tenn.; grandchildren, Leslie (Justin) Bahan, Michael (Kelly) Instine, Darci (Ryan) Bebout, Rachel (Jacob) Thompson-Marler and Chelsea Thompson; great-grandchildren, Madison Bahan, Mackenzie Bahan, Jack Bahan, Jacob Bahan, Logan Instine, Faith Instine, Carson Instine, Raychael DeLong, Brooklynn Instine and Zane Bebout; brothers, Rick (Barb) McKee and Terry (Laura) McKee; sisters, Bonnie (Jesse) Walters, Linda (Dave Jones) Bailey, Connie (Tom) Sizemore and Becky (Ken) Hilton; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Puddy worshipped at the First Church of God in Bellefontaine. She worked for Siemens in Urbana for nearly 30 years. Puddy was an avid fisherwoman; she loved taking fishing trips to Tennessee. She enjoyed bowling, game shows, and traveling. Puddy loved her family gatherings. She loved being with her “twisted” sisters, and “What happens with the sisters … stays with the sisters.” All who loved Puddy will miss her.
Pastor Gary Brown and Pastor Ray Headings officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, March 27, at the First Church of God, 1000 E. Brown Ave., Bellefontaine. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at church. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
