The Canfield artist and adjunct professor at Youngstown State University is visiting this week to lead a watercolor workshop hosted by the Logan County Art League.
While his main job is to teach artists the finer points of painting with watercolors, he said he also plans to enjoy the local ambiance and possibly leave with a few photos of landscape he can paint at a later date.
“We’ve been working with color, composition, value, drawing … a little bit of everything,” the painter said of the work. Each day, Leeper begins with a bit of instruction and then lets the participants do their own work while offering constructive criticism and praise.
