Northwestern’s boys golf team dealt visiting Benjamin Logan a heartbreaking defeat Thursday as the Warriors won on a tiebreaker in Central Buckeye Conference play.
The Raiders held a one stroke lead after the first four scores were completed, but the Warriors tied the score at 168-168 after the fifth golfers turned in their scores. The Warriors ended up winning on the second tiebreaker.
“It’s a tough loss, but if everyone gave their best effort that’s all we can do,” said BL head coach Chris Conley. “It’s unbelievable that we can have so many close matches against the same school. Six of our last eight head-to-head matches have been by a stroke.”
Will Kenoyer led Ben Logan with a 43, Ethan Ricketts carded a 44, Garrett Allen posted a 45 and Carter Stewart recorded a 54. Bryce Loomis added a 62 and Gavin Clay had a 72.
Ben Logan joins Bellefontaine for a tri-match Monday at Springfield Shawnee.
