Bethanie Williams, 25, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead following a three-vehicle, non-injury crash on State Route 47 Monday afternoon.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a westbound car on S.R. 47 at County Road 25 about 3:20 p.m. when her vehicle struck the rear of a westbound car that was stopped in traffic operated by Taylor Keene, 17, of Bellefontaine.
Taylor’s car then struck the rear of a westbound car operated by Mark Harshfield, 47, of Bellefontaine, that had stopped to make a turn onto C.R. 25.
Damage was heavy to the Keene vehicle, which was towed from the scene, and light to the other two cars. The drivers were wearing their seat belts.
• Cory K. Casey, 34, of Archbold, was cited for failure to control following a non-injury crash 1:30 p.m. Sunday in front of the Huntsville Marathon gas station, 6990 State Route 117.
Deputies report he was operating a northbound car when he attempted to pass a northbound vehicle operated by Larry Jerviss, 76, of Huntsville that had slowed to turn into the gas station parking lot. His car struck the rear of the Jerviss vehicle as it was turning.
Damage was light to both vehicles. The drivers were wearing their seat belts.
