Spring has sprung at Bellefontaine Elementary School this week, where the kindergarten through second-grade students have finally gotten a break in the unseasonably cold weather and had the chance to try out a newly installed obstacle course playground made possible through a $13,000 Mary Rutan Foundation grant.

During their Friday recess, pupils crowded the obstacle course’s climbing walls, swinging bridge and slide purchased from AAA State of Play. The students were enthusiastic about the new addition to the more traditional playground equipment already located behind their school building.
“I like all of it because it’s so new and it’s so fun,” kindergartner Jackson Lynch said. “I like the monkey bars the best — I can do a lot of tricks on them.”
