Fellow BHS student Nick Kurtz has been named a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship program, an honor presented to about 34,000 students in the U.S. He placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the program by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
