Nancy Lee Parkins, 82, daughter of the late Charles Russell Sr. and Regina Helen Patterson Murph, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, at Accura Healthcare in Stanton, Iowa.
Nancy was born in Montgomery County and grew up in Ohio along with seven of her siblings. She moved to California in the mid 1950s where she raised two daughters.
She eventually returned to Ohio and settled in Lakeview, with her beloved husband Charlie Parkins, who preceded her in death. Nancy and Charlie were well known in the area and had many friends. They often could be found socializing with their group of friends at the local McDonald’s or at one of Nancy’s favorite restaurants, Captain Ds. Nancy also was preceded in death by siblings, Richard, Charles, Ralph, Florence, Phyllis and Peggy; and on Jan. 28, 2019, by a daughter, Shirley.
She is survived by her sister, Patsy Murph Dano of Kettering; daughters, Shirley (Albert) Buehler of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Bonnie (Michael) Metz of Stanton, Calif.; granddaughter, Nicole Leigh Bleau of Ridgecrest, Calif; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
We love you and will miss you always.
Per Nancy’s wishes she will be cremated and buried alongside her husband Charlie in Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield. That service is at 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, and the family welcomes anyone who wishes to attend.
