Multiple fire departments responded to a report of a three-sided machine shed that was on fire at 11435 County Road 59, DeGraff, about 12:30 a.m. today.
Maplewood Fire Department was the lead agency at the scene, and other responders included DeGraff, Quincy, Jackson Center and Lakeview fire departments at the property owned by Jeff Overs. Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours.
No injuries were reported and no further details were available at press time.
Intoxicated man jailed after canoe incident
Timothy L. Allen, 57, of 324 N. Main St., DeGraff, was charged with public intoxication, open container and expired boat registration following an incident Tuesday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 5:50 p.m. to the Oakdale Campground, 4611 S. State Route 235, Quincy, in reference to an intoxicated man in a canoe.
Deputies arrived and located Mr. Allen, who was seated in a canoe located on a riverbank. While speaking with deputies, they observed that he was highly intoxicated and noticed several beer bottles and other debris fall out of the canoe.
He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
