Alecia Worthington, 44, of Sidney, was charged with drunk driving, possession of marijuana and failure to control after she reportedly crashed her car in ditch along the 4000 block of County Road 63, west of County Road 64 shortly after 8:45 p.m. Saturday.
A passing motorist contacted deputies and reported she saw a suspicious female, unsteady on her feet walking eastbound on C.R. 63.
Responding deputies eventually found the suspect hiding in a cornfield, she was uninjured but appeared intoxicated, according to reports.
The suspect told deputies she had crashed her car in a ditch and could not get it out.
Field sobriety and a blood-alcohol test were administered and her BAC registered .172, according to reports.
A search of her person revealed suspected marijuana and paraphernalia. Damage was minor to the vehicle, which was towed from the scene.
The suspect was lodged in Logan County Jail.
• Justin Miles, 26, of New Carlisle, was cited for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop that occurred just before 6 p.m. Saturday on State Route 235 at Township Road 293.
A traffic stop was initiated for traveling 57 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. Upon making contact with the vehicle, deputies noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverage.
Field sobriety tests were conducted, and the suspect was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving. A blood-alcohol test at the jail revealed the suspect’s BAC was .155.
He was issued a summons and released to a sober person.
