Sandra E. Knisley, 33, of 301 E. Chillicothe Ave., Apt. 4, was charged Saturday with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for having an open containers of alcohol in a motor vehicle during an 11:30 p.m. traffic stop.
A witness reported seeing a southbound Honda CR-V on Park Street and observed behavior that convinced the witness the driver was intoxicated.
An officer in the area spotted the CR-V cross Chillicothe Avenue and then turn into a drive for apartment complex where Knisley resides.
She exited the vehicle as the officer approached the driver’s side door. He detected an odor of alcohol while talking with her and she was reportedly unsteady on her feet and swaying.
The first step in field sobriety testing indicated she was impaired by alcohol but declined to continue with further field tests. She also declined to take a breathalyzer test or provide a urine sample for analysis.
Officers found two open cans of alcoholic beverages in the vehicle. She was released to a sober driver.
Couple charged after argument
Thomas S. Snapp, 56, and Tiffani J. Hunter, 37, both of 552 E. Chillicothe Ave., each was charged Sunday after an 8:05 p.m. argument inside Los Cabos, 125 Dowell Ave.
The duo got up from their table and carried on the argument as they left the restaurant.
Snapp was charged with domestic violence for allegedly kicking an exit door that swung and struck Hunter.
Hunter was charged with disorderly conduct for alleged outbursts inside the restaurant.
Both were issued summonses.
Drunken man arrested
Nathaniel G. Jones, 20, at large, was charged Wednesday with criminal trespass, public intoxication and persistent disorderly conduct.
At 12:45 a.m., officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were called to 208 W. Brown Ave. and found Jones at the front door of the residence noticeably intoxicated, having trouble standing and walking. It was apparent he had urinated on himself.
Resident Katie Casey told officers Jones came to the house around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and passed out on the living room floor from intoxication. He woke up around 12:30 a.m. and began to urinate on the couch. He would not leave the residence when Casey ordered him out.
Another resident, John Payne, escorted him out.
Jones was taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Teen girl lodged
A 13-year-old Bellefontaine girl was charged Monday with disorderly conduct after she left her home against her guardian’s wishes.
The teen was contacted via her cellular phone. She was riding in a vehicle with a 24-year-old Bellefontaine woman in the Lima area.
The girl and the driver agreed to bring her back to the guardian’s residence but took more than three hours for the duo to comply.
The teen was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center and the woman was referred to juvenile prosecutors for consideration of charges.
