Ali Shafeek Jr., 44, of Dayton, was arrested Saturday and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, a marked lanes violation and not wearing a seat belt from a traffic stop on north Main Street about 11:30 p.m.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department received a call notifying them of an erratic arrest.
Upon making contact with the suspect, signs of impairment were observed, along with an odor of alcoholic beverage.
Shafeek told officers he was coming from a wedding reception.
Field sobriety tests were attempted unsuccessfully.
The suspect was transported to the police station, issued the citations and released to a sober person.
