Shane Boggs, 46, of Urbana, was charged March 5 with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and possession of marijuana and cited failure to control and having an open container prohibited.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report he was eastbound in the 700 block of Plumvalley Street in a pickup truck towing trailer. He traveled off the right side of the road and hit a tree around 5 p.m.
He was transported from the scene for sobriety field tests which indicated he was impaired. A submitted breathalyzer sample came in at 0.07, just under the legal limit.
Boggs also submitted a urine sample for testing.
Loose marijuana was found on the rear passenger floor board of the cruiser. Boggs admitted trying to dispose of it inside the cruiser.
