Adriel School officials have had to ask this question numerous times in the school’s 120-year history, president and CEO Todd Hanes told Bellefontaine Rotarians at the group’s weekly meeting Monday at the Hilliker YMCA.
Adriel’s board of directors voted to close the school’s group home operations in February, after the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services initiated steps to revoke the school’s group home license.
Hanes, a former Adriel principal, has headed the school during a tumultuous two-year period fraught with major staffing issues, law changes and a toxic organizational culture caused by the mismanagement of Hanes’ predecessor.
