Zhatavious Alexander, 15, of 217 N. Elm St., was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center the evening of Feb. 17 after his family had reported him missing earlier that day.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to his address about 3:15 p.m. to speak with his family. His mother reported she had last spoken to her son at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, and had not seen him since then. She told officers her son runs away on a regular basis and said she did not believe he was in danger. She noted his friends told her that he had been posting on Snapchat.
About 7 p.m., officers responded to the residence again after they were informed that the 15-year-old had arrived back home. He was placed under arrest.
Vehicle break-in reported
Lance Minnich, 509 Highview Drive, reported Feb. 17 that his unlocked vehicle had been entered overnight while it was parked in his driveway. He said wireless headphones and some change was missing.
• Officers responded to Wal-Mart, 2281 S. Main St., about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a theft.
Officers met with Cheyenne Gunsaulies, who said she realized she had forgotten to retrieve $20 in cash back that she had requested at the self-checkout lane. When she returned to the register a few minutes later, she said the cash was gone. Officers continue to investigate and the store’s video surveillance will be reviewed.
Driver cited in non-injury crash
Anita Day, 64, of Bellefontaine, was cited for signaling before changing lanes as a result of a non-injury crash Tuesday afternoon.
Officers report Day was operating a southbound sport utility vehicle in the 200 block of south Main Street about 12:10 p.m. in the left lane when she attempted to change lanes and struck the left rear of a southbound car operated by Maddisyn C. Norris, 22, of Bellefontaine, causing light damage to both vehicles. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Officers served warrants to:
• Latiana McWhorter, 27, of Springfield, failure to appear;
• Richard Fellure, 38, of Columbus, aggravated menacing and telecommunications harassment;
• Tiffani J. Hunter, 36, of Bellefontaine, failure to appear, original charge of illegal use of drug paraphernalia;
• Aaron Jacks, 30, of Springfield, no operator’s license, identity fraud.
