Mike Osman, 74, of Bellefontaine, OH passed away peacefully, Monday morning, February 28, 2022, at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, OH after a yearlong battle with heart and kidney disease.
Mike was born on October 7, 1947, in Immenstadt, Germany, a son of the late Veli and Elfreide Kaufmann Osman. He was also preceded in death by his son, SSGT Ergin V Osman, who lost his life serving his country on May 26, 2011, in Afghanistan.
Mike married Tonya Kelly Tussing on February 25, 2011, they had spent 31 years together and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Leyla (Anthony) Balaska of Tampa, FL, stepson, Kelly (Jessie) Tussing of Quincy, OH, nine grandchildren, and a brother, Ed (Barb) Osman of Michigan.
Mike proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a Staff Sergeant and served in the Green Beret. Mike retired from Ryder. He was a member of Bellefontaine Moose Lodge #2563, Bellefontaine VFW Post #1080, and Harold R. Kerr American Legion Post #173, all in Bellefontaine and Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39 in Lakeview, OH. He enjoyed golfing and riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
