Mechanicsburg’s girls basketball team took advantage of miscues by host Triad and rolled to a 55-29 victory Thursday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Cardinals (3-7) committed 31 turnovers and were held to just seven points in the second half.
“We got off to a shaky start,” said Triad head coach Jeff Merklin. “Then we made a nice run, but Mechanicsburg disguises their defenses very well and we were never able to get our offense going after about the midpoint of the second quarter.
“They run a matchup zone that is extremely well-coached, their girls are aggressive, know what they’re doing and the result was a 31-turnover game.”
