Matthew N. Triplett, 89, of rural Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021, in the Campbell Place, Bellefontaine.
He was born in Clay, West Virginia, on March 31, 1932, the son of the late Marshall and Nattie (Lytle) Triplett.
On March 10, 1955, he married the former Erma D. (Moore) Triplett and she preceded him in death on December 31, 1998. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by a son, Richard E. (Karyn) Graham of Zanesfield, two grandchildren; Denyse Bayliss and Rick (Kendra) Graham, four great-grandsons; Zane (Haley) Bayliss, Tyler (Bree) Graham, Ryan (Andrea) Graham, and Dylan (Kendall) Graham, six great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his extended family, which includes the wonderful staff and residents of the Campbell Place.
Matthew was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving 20 years for his country. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked as a partner (1972 to 1995) in the asphalt company, Logan Bituminous, which later became Quality Paving. He belonged to the Eagles, American Legion and V.F.W., all of Bellefontaine. He enjoyed shooting pool.
Pastor Shelley Stephenson will officiate a graveside service at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, in Zanesfield Cemetery will military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard.
