Mary Lou McCoy, 76, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, in Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born Nov. 19, 1940, in Milford Center, a daughter of Isaac W. and Jennie M. Reames Holycross.
Mary enjoyed playing all kinds of games — especially cards and dice — and in her spare time, she liked to complete puzzle books. Most of all, she cherished and loved her family unconditionally. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially a special grandson, Eric Shafer.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Lindy (Jamie) Bogardus, Cynthia (Phil) Thompson, Polly (David) Mohr and Jerrie (Stan) Shafer; her sons, John “Tom” McCoy and Duane McCoy; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Tempa (Delmar) Cox, Shirley Johnson and Ruth Ann Wooddell; her brothers, Donald (JoAnn) Holycross, Carroll Holycross and Darrel (Pat) Holycross; numerous nieces, nephews; and friends at Lakewood Manor who adored her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Agnes Murray, Betty Black and Alice Davis; and her brothers, Raymond, Charles and Aaron Holycross.
Funeral services are at noon Saturday, Sept. 30, in the Freshwater, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home, North Lewisburg, following calling hours that begin at 10 a.m. Pastor Robin Ricks officiates. Burial follows in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
