Marjory Aler, 69, of Findlay, passed away at 1:43 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born June 7, 1948, in Bellefontaine, to the late Charles A. and Marjory Perry Aler.
She married Jerry Sommer on Dec. 20, 1980, and he survives.
Other survivors include stepdaughters, Kay Maroscher and Dr. Jean Novak, both of Bluffton; sisters, Barbara Aler of Goose Creek, S. C. and Carol (Terry) Eaton of Bellefontaine; brother-in-law, Jose Molina of Goose Creek, S.C.; nieces, Jennifer Bell and Melissa Mattox, along with several other nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her brother Bob Aler.
Marjory retired after working 31 years at Whirlpool. She earned her bachelor of arts degree from Findlay College and was heavily involved in geneology. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of Union Veterans.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, 204 W. Sandusky St., Findlay.
All other services are private.
Memorials may be given to the Hancock County Humane Society.
