Marie Jean Bradford, 83, a lifelong resident of Indian Lake, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones. “Jeanie” made the trip to heaven at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017.
She was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Springfield, to the late Albert and Marie Frisz Asebrook. A brother, Bud Asebrook and a great-grandson, William Rice Bradford preceded her in death.
Jeanie was introduced to her lifelong partner at the Indian Lake Danceland and married Rice E. Bradford on Feb. 27, 1954, and he survives.
Also surviving are five children, Kimberly Bradford Mason and Bari Bradford, both of Russells Point, Brian (Deb) Bradford of Chicago, Ill., Brooks (Amy) Bradford of Dallas, Texas, and Becky (Steve) Zorn of Lakeview; 10 grandchildren, Sloan Shearer, Bradford Shearer, Brennen Bradford, Brett Bradford, Bailey Bradford, Dax (Karen) Bradford, Field (Rachel) Bradford, Brooks Elizabeth Bradford, Evan Zorn and Ethan Zorn; six great-grandchildren, Kyler, Caysen, Kinsler, Tucker and Rowan Bradford, and Katie Shearer.
Jeanie was an avid gardener, reader and cook, and in her earlier years the best looking gas “boy” that Brad’s Boats ever had on Indian Lake. She loved crossword puzzles and the more difficult they were, the better. She was a full time volunteer at the former Elks Lodge in Russells Point and her baked goods were the highlight of the bingo events. She enjoyed watching the Buckeyes and was always current with the team’s schedule and stats. Jeanie was also very passionate about following her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
A family Ggathering to celebrate Jeanie’s life at Indian Lake will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney. Condolence cards may be mailed to the Bradford family at P.O. Box 306, Russells Point, OH 43348. Online condolences may be expressed at the funeral home’s website www.cromesfh.com.
