Boy treated after Tuesday crash
A 13-year-old Bellefontaine boy was treated at the scene of a Tuesday crash by a Bellefontaine squad member for possible injuries, officers report.
Tyler J. Barnes was a front seat passenger in his mother’s westbound sport utility vehicle on Sandusky Avenue at Lakewood Drive when it was hit from behind around 3:45 p.m.
Stephanie Barnes, 43, of Bellefontaine, had stopped to turn left onto Lakewood and her SUV was hit by a car operated by Kaylyn E. Wright, 27, of Huntsville.
Neither driver complained of injuries even though damage was heavy to both vehicles.
Wright was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
Pedestrian lodged
Jacob M. Gayman, 34, at large, was charged with three misdemeanor counts of possessing dangerous drugs after an officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department investigated Gayman’s suspicious activity around 4:05 p.m. Wednesday.
The officer was on patrol in the area of Harding Street and Washington Avenue and observed Gayman walk up to a house and knock on the front door.
A woman answered the door and appeared to be confused by Gayman’s presence, the officer reported. After he left the front door, Gayman was stopped by the officer.
Gayman said he merely asked the resident to use a phone. He also consented to a search of his clothing.
A pill container with three separate prescription-only pills was located in a jacket pocket. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
