Travis L. May, 32, of 2024 State Route 273, Belle Center, was charged with telecommunications harassment and was served with a Bellefontaine Police Department warrant during an incident Tuesday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report from Lakeview resident James Young, who said May had sent him threatening messages. He said he had been providing May with transportation to work, and about 7 a.m. that day, he went to May’s house to pick him up for work.
He stated May would not answer the door or phone calls, so he left the residence. Young stated that May then began to text him and an argument broke out, and Young related that May sent him 52 different audio and text messages that day.
May was located at his residence and was placed under arrest. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Driver cited for reckless operation in non-injury crash
Alexander E. Aburto, 29, of Bellefontaine, was cited for reckless operation relating to a non-injury crash about 3:10 p.m. Monday in the 3100 block of south U.S. Route 68.
Deputies report the second driver, Lydia A. Parsons, 34, of Urbana, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance.
Parsons was operating a northbound 2011 Toyota Prius behind Aburto’s northbound 2010 Dodge Ram. She said black smoke was coming from his vehicle, diminishing her ability to see, and that Aburto also “brake-checked” her.
The pickup reportedly slowed in traffic and Parsons’ car struck the rear of the pickup. Damage was moderate to the car and light to the pickup. The drivers were wearing their seat belts and child passengers in the Parsons vehicle were properly restrained in child safety seats.
