Shawn M. Fabiny, 20, of 920 N. Troy Road, Bellefontaine, was charged with assault Sunday afternoon, several hours after deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office had issued him a summons for domestic violence, both related to incidents at 8976 Crescent Drive, Lakeview.
Deputies first responded to the residence about 1:30 p.m. on a report of a domestic dispute, and met with the defendant’s mother, Jody Fogle, who reported that there had been an incident that day between her son and her daughter, Ashley N. Fabiny, 22, of Marysville.
Mr. Fabiny reportedly had threatened to harm his sister, and the two had pulled each other’s hair during an argument.
Deputies observed that Mr. Fabiny had blood on his knuckles, which he said was from punching himself so that he wouldn’t punch someone else.
Ms. Fabiny also was issued a summons for domestic violence, and deputies instructed the siblings to not have contact with one another.
Then about 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to the home again on a report of a possible assault. Mr. Fabiny reportedly had stopped at the residence to get a bag of dog food, and again gotten into an argument with his sister.
Mr. Fabiny’s stepfather, Thomas Gordon, 44, reportedly intervened and told the defendant to leave the residence. Mr. Fabiny then reportedly charged at Gordon, and the two “wrestled around.” Gordon stated that the defendant hit him in the head and he wanted to file assault charges.
Mr. Fabiny was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
