HENRY |
Randy L. Henry, 55, of 106 Lind Ave., Russells Point, was charged Tuesday with aggravated menacing and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a report Tuesday from Jerome D. Newland of Lakeview regarding alleged threats made against him by the defendant.
Newland told deputies that he is the victim of an embezzlement case that involves Henry’s daughter. During a recent court hearing for the case, Newland said Henry was mumbling out loud and was asked to leave the courtroom by deputies. When he stood up to leave, he allegedly made a verbal threat against Newland.
Newland also reported that he received a threatening telephone call July 26, and he believed the caller on the phone was Henry.
Deputies conducted follow-up investigation to speak with other individuals who were in the courtroom the day of the hearing.
Henry was located in Lakeview and was placed under arrest.
He at first denied making the threats, but later said he “wanted to apologize.”
HORD |
• Austin M. Hord, 21, of Kenton, was charged with disorderly conduct related to an incident early this morning in the area of Barnes Landing.
Deputies received a report about 4:20 a.m. about a man walking in the middle of north State Route 235 in the 14000 block.
When deputies arrived in the area, they spotted the man, later identified as Hord, lying in the ditch on the south side of the road. Deputies said the man was asleep and they had to yell and shake him several times before he woke up.
Deputies noted that he was unsteady on his feet and learned that about two hours earlier, he had been in contact with deputies in another incident. During that contact at the Sunoco gas station, 13840 State Route 235, Lakeview, he was found to be in possession of possible methamphetamine and had been transported to a Chickasaw Path address at that time. Charges are pending for that case, awaiting results of lab tests of the drug, deputies said.
While speaking with the defendant, deputies said he could not clearly explain why he had been sleeping in the ditch and observed that he was under the influence of some substance. He was transported to the jail.
