Nicholas C. Emerich, 34, of 401 N. West St., was charged Sunday with having weapons under disability and domestic violence.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were called to the residence around 11:40 p.m. when Erica D. Hayman, of the same address, told dispatchers the suspect was intoxicated and would not let her and her daughter leave.
She told officers the suspect had been drinking most of the day and that he was making threats to harm someone. She also informed officers she had recently found a handgun under a mattress, removed it and hid it in the bedroom closet.
She helped officers located the loaded handgun which was seized as a previous court order stated Emerich could not own or have a firearm within his residence.
Emerich denied he kept Hayman from leaving while acknowledging that a handgun was kept in his bedroom. He claimed it belonged Hayman.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

Store employees report the girl was visibly shaken by the incident and they escorted her home.
Harber was found in possession of crystalline substance inside a small plastic bag. It was placed in evidence for laboratory testing.
Further charges are pending the outcome of the tests.
