Joseph D. Robinson, 23, at large, was charged Monday with criminal trespassing, theft, entering a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.
Around 12:35 a.m., officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department located him in the area of Superior Street and Wilgus Avenue after a resident called police.
He was walking between two houses when officers arrived.
He told them he was in the area looking for friend’s house but couldn’t remember the friend’s name nor address. He story changed and said he regularly walks through the neighborhood to the city’s south end retail district.
Officers searched two backpacks he was carrying and his clothing, recovering more than $30 in loose change, school supplies, makeup, two marijuana grinders, a marijuana pipe, headphones, Bluetooth speakers, clothing and cologne. One of the bags had the victims name on it and the victim confirmed it was stolen.
Robinson was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
