Billy C. Grider Jr., 52, of Kenton, was charged Thursday with possession of cocaine.
He was stopped in the city’s west end as part of an ongoing Logan County Joint Drug Task Force investigation.
He was pulled over for a stop sign violation. A used snuff can with a small amount of cocaine was found under the driver’s seat.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department lodged the suspect in jail.
Driver charged with OVI
Ashley R. Penhorwood, 32, of Spencerville, was charged Friday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and having an open container of alcohol, while her passenger Vanessa R. Kill, 31, of Lima, was charged with having an open container of alcohol.
An officer stopped the motorist after her northbound car nearly traveled into the path of his southbound cruiser around 2:10 a.m. on Ludlow Road at Spring Avenue.
The motorist refused to perform any field sobriety tests and was arrested at the scene.
There were recently emptied bottles and cans and a paper cup with beer in the vehicle.
Woman admits stealing from employer
Juliann Dohse, 54, of 6367 W. State Route 245, DeGraff, was charged Friday with theft.
The 11-year employee of Wal-Mart, 2281 S. Main St., was observed on surveillance video taking merchandise in October and on two occasions in December, the last occurring Thursday.
When questioned by officers on Friday, she admitted she “enjoys stealing.”
Two face domestic charges
Morganne J. Landon, 21, of 425 N. Park St., was charged Friday with domestic violence. She became irate during an argument and shattered a glass pane with her elbow.
• Jorrell A. Johnson, 35, of 207 N. Elm St., was charged Thursday with domestic violence.
He argued with Amber Haynes, of the same address, in the parking lot of Dollar General, 338 E. Columbus Ave., got out of her car and threw a portable speaker through the driver’s side window. The victim was hit by the speaker and by shattered glass.
He was lodged in jail.
