Christopher S. Wallace, 42, of 233 Second St., Russells Point, was charged with using weapons while intoxicated, discharge of a firearm near a prohibited premises and disorderly conduct related to an incident Monday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 10 p.m. to the area of First and Second streets in the village of Russells Point in reference to several gunshots. Dispatchers had received several calls about this incident, with individuals reporting that a man had discharged a firearm from his back porch.
Deputies said Wallace met them at his front door wearing only his underwear and said he appeared to be intoxicated and was unsteady on his feet.
On Wallace’s back porch, deputies observed that the glass from the back door window was completely shattered from the inside out. Upon further inspection, deputies observed what appeared to be a bullet hole in the window frame of the door. Outside the back door, deputies found an empty shell casing believed to be expended from a 9mm cartridge.
Deputies also recovered 9 mm casings in the kitchen area and a 9mm handgun in a closet in the residence.
During their investigation, deputies determined that the projectiles originated in the area of the kitchen and back door, and the trajectory traveled away from the residence and in the direction of U.S. Route 33 about 275 feet away from the home.
The defendant was placed under arrest and was transported to the Logan County Jail.
Driver charged with OVI
Eric M. Tynan, 39, of 616 Garfield Ave., Bellefontaine, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs as a result of an incident Saturday evening.
Deputies responded to a report of a possible rolling domestic dispute about 7:40 p.m. in the area of U.S. 33 and Township Road 89 in Lakeview, as reported by a caller behind the vehicle.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle in the area of U.S. 33 and Harrison Street. Washington Township Police Department officers also responded to the scene.
The driver, Tynan, and his fiancé both told deputies they had been in an argument, but it had not gotten physical.
Tynan displayed signs of intoxication and he told deputies they had just left a wedding, where he had consumed several beers.
He submitted to field sobriety tests and was transported to the jail, where he submitted to a breath test, with a result of 0.107 blood alcohol content.
Woman transported from S.R. 47 crash
Jackie A. Lallemand, 62, of DeGraff, was transported by Quincy EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of possible injuries sustained in a crash Friday evening.
The second driver, Irene L. Winner, 19, of DeGraff, and her passenger were checked at the scene, but did not report any injuries.
Deputies report Lallemand was operating a northbound sport utility vehicle on County Road 35 about 7:40 p.m. and crossed State Route 47 into the path of an eastbound sport utility vehicle operated by Winner.
Lallemand was cited for a stop sign violation. Each of the occupants were wearing their seat belts. Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.
